Final copy of the magazine

I have now finished creating the final copy of the magazine unless the rest of my group feel something needs changing. I have now changed the text again, changing each individual letter the leopard print of the letter being a lot brighter and the the other half of the letter being grey.
The background now has colour, after finding the 'gradient tool' on photoshop to slowly change one colour i decided to use it within the magazine. I chose a pale pink which is also used within the image but a shade so it will not clash with the text and the image.

Creating the magazine.

After starting the magazine advertisement i have my main image and all the text that i want and need. Although i have a problem as i have no background, and having multicoloured text it will be extremely hard to decide. I may have to start again as i can not change the brigthness of the lettering once i have clicked off it. The colour of the background will need to be something pale so everything else on the advert will stand out and be eye catching to the audience.

Creating the magazine advertisement

I have now started to create my magazine advertisement by using the software photoshop. I have selected a image which is suitable for the advert, with using photoshop i have to use a variety of techniques including, the magic wand tool to erase parts of the image that's not needed. The quick selection tool to erase small parts of images or text then replace them with a different colour or even a patterns. There may be more techniques used when completing the rest of the advert.

Creating a mock up

When creating a mock up for the magazine i need to consider the mise en scene, so the setting, lights, costume, props and make-up. From looking at photos and other magazine advertisements in my research, i decided to take factors of their adverts so i know they will be effective with the audience. It needs to be eye catching, with just the right information and images. If you put too much information on your advertisement, the audience will loose interest so you just need the basics. - Name of artist, title name of CD, "Out Now" and the date its released.
There are two mock ups on my Media A2 blog, one with the basic layout and the second one with the actual writing positioned on it.

Choosing photos

We now need to choose photos that suit our preferred layout for the magazine advertisement
This needs to be a long shot showing the models from head to toe, with artificial light that's not too difficult to cut around and edit on photoshop .

Photo shoot

Today my group and I put our planning to use and had our very own photo shoot for the magazine advertisement and our CD cover.
The photo shoot went very well and we managed to get loads of photos that could be a possibility to use for the magazine and CD. We stuck to our plan and used a short leopard print dress and very high heels, with leopard print make up and bright accessories for the female model. While for the male model, we got him to wear a bright pink top with baggy jeans, some shots with a hat and other without.
We managed to take over 200 photos, which we will then need to cut down and choose the best ones that would suit our layout of the magazine advertisement.

Ideas for the magazine advert

Following my research, i have now found some ideas that i would like to use in my groups advert for the magazine.
There are 3 adverts i have looked at and i like an element from each of them, whether its the colour, the text style and the layout. I will now discuss my ideas with the other members of my group to hopefully bring out one final design for the advert ready to be created.

Research

I have now found another good example for a style that could be used for a magazine advertisement. It is an actual advertisement compared to my other research which are photographs. The layout on the advert will benefit the audience more as the image is smaller and the text is a lot bigger.
This has now given more more ideas how to position the advert and what sizing to use such as the image and text.

Research

I have now analysed two photos that i think will be a good idea for advertisements. The photos have given some very good ideas of what the advertisement could actually look like although i wouldn't use all aspects of the photo ideas.
I now need to carrying on researching for more ideas to create a good music video and magazine advertisement.

Research

Over the weekend I have found images and a advertisement of what I would like the magazine advertisement to be like. In today’s lesson I have added those images onto my blog and analysed them with positive and negative points. From analysing these images hopefully it will help me with ideas for planning my own magazine advertisement.
Within my group we planned where the setting would be for the filming the actual music video, the filming would take place in front of a plain brick wall and a wall with graffiti on to give the effect of bassline, as graffiti is associated with R'n'B and bassline. We have also decided to use artificial lighting rather than natural light as it's meant to have a look rough to the music video. The costume are going to be really extravagant with the women in the video having skimpy clothes and very high heels, where as the male in the video will need to look more of a R'n'B artist with a cap on and chunky jewellery.

Choosing a brief

From reading the briefs my group and I have decided to choose option one which is, "A promotion package for the release of an album. to include a music promo video, together with two of the following options" which we have chosen , a cover for it's release CD and a magazine advertisement for the release of the album. After planning out different genres of music we have decided to go with the genre, baseline/electro. We have split up the work load for the research task, i will be researching for a magazine advertisement by looking at different artists that have used ideas that we like and to also look at different camera angles to make the product look different. The other members of my group will be researching the video and and the CD cover for the music video.

Starting Media Coursework

From starting my research project i will be making a promotion package for the release of an album which will include a promotion video, with a cover for a CD album and an advertisement for a magazine to promote the video. The style of music is mainly for a target audience from 14 to 22 years. The magazine advertisement and the CD cover need to be bright vibrant colours in order for it to stand out and to be noticed.
